Medical Assistant Dermatology
Our fast-paced and booming dermatology office is looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a medical assistant.

Education and
Experience:
At least two (1-2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant, requiredAt least one (1) year of experience in a dermatology/dermatologic surgery setting, requiredAt least one (1) year of experience in phlebotomy, preferred.
Not required.
Prior EHR and Scribe experience, requiredKnowledge of vital signs, requiredCurrent CPR certification, preferredEssential skills and abilities:
Positive attitude to maximize quality patient carePatient advocacy and conflict resolution skills for patients of all ages and backgroundsAbility to multitask and perform well in a team environmentA team player, able to follow directions, and eager to learnComputer skills and proficient typing skills are essentialPrior dermatology practice experience a plusMust have knowledge of medical terminology, medical computer programs, and MS OfficeMust be familiar with HIPAA standards and OSHA regulationsMUST be able to show up to shift on timeMust be willing to cross train as front desk receptionistDuties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned, assist provider with patient care.
Escort patient to and from exam room, help patient prepare for exam.
Take patient vitals when requested by provider.
Documentation in EHR.
Clean and straighten exam room between patients.
Organize patient flow according to protocol.
Prepare syringes according to protocol.
Remove sutures.
Ensure completion of forms and appropriate requisitions.
Set-up, clean, sterilize and inventory all medical equipment and instruments including procedure tray according to instructions.
Prepare pathology and lab specimens.
Route to correct lab as required by patient's insurance.
Maintain accurate pathology log.
Notify patients of pathology and lab results.
Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed.
Schedule or re-schedule appointments with providers, specialists as necessary.
Send appropriate records as necessary.
Work in compliance with OSHA, blood-borne pathogen standards.
Adherence to the healthcare compliance policy.
Document and keep current appropriate records for maintenance programs.
Maintain medication samples, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records.
Maintain infection control.
Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, and keep supply cabinets well stocked.
Order, sort, re-stock, and inventory all medical supplies.
Document all medical instructions given to patients.
Prepare patients for laser procedures and/or fill liquid nitrogen canister (as required at your location).
